Sydney Day of Action wrap-up
SYDNEY: Uniting with Make Finance Pay campaigners around the world, Robin Hood supporters gathered in the heart of Sydney’s financial district last week to march for the Robin Hood Tax.
Led by a vocal town crier and Robin Hood, merry men and women met at the Martin Place Cenotaph on Thursday May 20 and marched through the crowds to the country’s Reserve Bank.
Sporting green hats and waistcoats, and chanting campaign slogans, the group handed out Robin Hood Australia postcards to passers-by.
Outside the bank, the town crier and Mr Hood addressed the crowd on the benefits of an FTT, who followed suit by shooting (rubber) arrows into a campaign target.
A film-maker was on hand to record the action, and a film is due on the Australian website within the week.
